The day American diplomats left the Security Council
America is tired of lectures from the same UN that protects the worst abusers on the planet.
On Monday, the United States did something very rare in diplomacy.
When the ambassador of France began his speech at a UN Security Council session on Ukraine, senior U.S. official Dan Negrea stood up and led the entire American delegation out of the chamber.
Negrea did not hide his reasons. He told the press that the French speech was dishonest political theater.
He said: “There is a member of this council that will feign moral outrage and pretend to lecture the rest of us about every topic.” He then added: “That is why we walked out during France’s intervention.”
A walkout between two permanent members of the Security Council, and two NATO allies, is extremely rare. Something serious pushed Washington to this point.
The vote that started the fight
On July 24, the UN General Assembly voted to give Austrian lawyer Volker Türk a second term as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The vote was 144 in favor and 10 against, with 13 abstentions. The United States voted no, together with Israel.
Then Macron’s France decided to celebrate by insulting America.
The French mission to the UN in Geneva posted on X: “The US used to be a beacon of human rights. Not anymore. Today, it stands alongside North Korea, Nicaragua, Mali & Russia, isolated.”
The French diplomats added the hashtag “#AmericaAlone”.
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz answered on the same platform.
Waltz called French support for Türk shameful, and accused the human rights chief of lecturing free and sovereign democracies while protecting the worst oppressors in the world.
Why America voted no
The American reasons are documented, and they are solid.
First, the process was manipulated.
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres quietly nominated Türk and rushed the vote with almost no public discussion.
Even Ken Roth, the former head of Human Rights Watch, called it a stealth procedure designed to avoid scrutiny.
No commissioner has served two full terms since the job was created in 1993.
Guterres himself leaves office in December, so his successor should have chosen the next rights chief.
Second, Türk’s record is openly biased.
The organization UN Watch documented that Türk condemned Israel 58 times during his term.
The same organization found that Türk condemned the United States more times than China, North Korea, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar combined.
Third, Türk protects the powerful abusers.
Roth said that the worst failure of Türk’s career is his abandonment of the Uyghurs, the Muslim minority that China locks in camps.
The UN’s own report says Beijing’s actions may be crimes against humanity, and Türk stayed quiet.
Yes, Russia, North Korea, and Nicaragua also voted no. Those regimes oppose any scrutiny of their crimes.
America opposes the opposite problem: a commissioner who aims his scrutiny at democracies and ignores the powerful dictatorships.
Same ballot, opposite reasons.
Macron’s diplomats know this difference perfectly, and they hid it on purpose.
Today’s Liberal France has no moral authority
Now let us talk about France, the accuser.
President Emmanuel Macron, a former Rothschild investment banker, is one of the most unpopular leaders in the free world.
An Ipsos poll in April 2026 measured his approval at a record low of 18 percent, with 79 percent of the French disapproving of his policies.
A separate survey comparing 24 elected world leaders placed Macron in the last position of the entire list. This is the government that claims to speak for human rights.
And what about freedom of speech in Macron’s France?
In August 2024, French police arrested Telegram founder Pavel Durov at an airport near Paris.
Prosecutors filed 12 preliminary charges against him, forced him to pay 5 million euros in bail, and banned him from leaving the country.
His alleged crime was refusing to censor his platform the way Paris wanted.
Whistleblower Edward Snowden called the arrest an assault on the basic human rights of speech and association.
France was not finished.
In January 2025, prosecutors opened an investigation against X, the platform of Elon Musk, after a complaint from a lawmaker of Macron’s own party.
In February 2026, French police raided the offices of X in Paris. In May 2026, they escalated the case into a criminal investigation against Musk personally.
Musk calls it a political attack, and he is right.
Today’s Liberal France arrests tech founders, raids American companies, and criminalizes opinions. Then its diplomats fly to New York to lecture America about human rights.
No, thank you.
Time to say goodbye to the UN
Here comes our opinion, and this time we will be direct.
The United States pays 22 percent of the UN’s regular operating budget. In exchange, America receives condemnations, insults, and hashtags.
The UN Human Rights Council has included abusers like China, Cuba, and Venezuela as members.
The UN system has passed more resolutions condemning Israel than resolutions condemning Iran, Syria, and North Korea combined.
This is not a human rights organization. It is a platform built to attack America and Israel while the real oppressors applaud.
President Trump has already withdrawn the United States from the UN Human Rights Council, ended the funding of UNRWA, and pulled out of dozens of international bodies.
After the Türk vote, U.S. representative Jeff Bartos warned that America will now reassess its engagement, its participation, and its funding.
Washington currently owes the UN nearly 4,000 million dollars.
Our position is simple. America should not pay one dollar more. America should finish the job and leave the organization completely.
If 144 countries love Volker Türk so much, let those 144 countries pay for him.
America was a free and sovereign nation long before the UN existed, and America will remain free and sovereign long after the UN building becomes the most expensive office space in Manhattan.
The America UN confrontation is not a crisis. It is a healthy awakening, and it arrives decades late. 🇺🇸🔥🙏
