Colombia Election Results: Trump Ally Wins as Petro Cries Fraud

Colombia election results confirm De la Espriella's win, but Petro refuses to accept it and even calls Cepeda the real president. The U.S. and twelve allies just warned Petro to respect the vote, while the president elect plans a military garrison inauguration to honor Colombia's soldiers and police, and the region keeps shifting right.

The people of Colombia spoke loud and clear, but the left is trying to bury the Colombia election results

A socialist president refuses to accept his ally’s election defeat, and the whole free world is now watching the Colombia election results.

The people of Colombia made history on June 21. Record turnout. A clear winner certified by every electoral authority.

But outgoing President Gustavo Petro refuses to recognize the results. He alleges fraud without presenting a single piece of evidence.

Think about that. The loser of the election, according to Petro, is the real president. Colombia deserves better than this.

The people spoke and the left did not like the answer

Conservative lawyer Abelardo de la Espriella defeated leftist Senator Iván Cepeda in the presidential runoff.

De la Espriella won with 49.66% of the vote against Cepeda’s 48.70%, a margin of roughly 251,000 votes. With 12.9 million votes, De la Espriella became the most voted presidential candidate in Colombian history.

Later, the National Electoral Council issued the official certification on June 25.

More than 1,200 international observers, including a European Union mission with about 150 monitors, certified the transparency of the vote.

Colombia’s attorney general, Gregorio Eljach, reviewed the fraud claims and declared there is “no evidence of fraud.”

President Trump endorsed De la Espriella before the vote. The Colombian people ended their country’s first and only leftist government after just four years.

The socialist experiment failed, and the voters said so loud and clear.

Petro invents a fraud story nobody believes

Outgoing President Gustavo Petro refuses to accept reality. He claims the servers of the National Registry were hacked.

He even blamed Israel, saying the only entity in the world capable of compromising the voting software is “the State of Israel.”

No evidence. Just wild accusations.

But this gets even worse.

Petro publicly declared that “the president of Colombia is Iván Cepeda.” And Cepeda himself is threatening to promote civil disobedience.

Imagine losing an election certified by your own institutions and then telling the country the loser is the real winner.

But even Petro’s own government is breaking ranks.

His Defense Minister, Pedro Sánchez, recognized De la Espriella as the next president. When your own defense minister will not back your fraud story, the game is over.

De la Espriella is firing back.

He accuses Petro and Cepeda of preparing a “Plan B to remain in power at all costs” through a coup.

He also halted the formal transition process and asked allied governments and observation missions to keep their eyes on Colombia until August 7.

Colombia joins a growing blue wave as Latin America turns its back on socialism
Colombia joins a growing blue wave as Latin America turns its back on socialism

America and its allies draw a line in the sand

The democracies of this hemisphere did not take long to answer that call. On Friday, the United States and twelve allied nations of the Shield of the Americas issued a joint statement.

They expressed “deep concern” over statements and actions that question the integrity of Colombia’s electoral process without justified grounds.

The signers include Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Panama, Paraguay, and more. The message to Petro is simple. Respect the vote and guarantee a peaceful and orderly transfer of power on August 7.

The days of socialists delegitimizing elections in Latin America while the world looks away are over.

A swearing in among soldiers, not politicians

Here is a detail the mainstream media is burying.

De la Espriella asked Congress to approve holding his inauguration at a military garrison instead of the traditional ceremony in Bogotá.

He wants to hold the ceremony at a base in Popayán, in the Cauca region devastated by decades of armed conflict.

Officially, the reason is symbolic. He wants to honor “the true heroes of the homeland,” the soldiers and police officers.

But read between the lines.

With coup accusations flying, the president elect trusts the men in uniform more than the political class in Bogotá.

The new Congress will decide after it is installed on July 20.

MAGA stands with the great awakening of Latin America

Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared the joint statement himself and declared that “Colombia’s best days are ahead.”

U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno, born in Bogotá, told Rubio and President Trump that the elections were completely free. He even said Colombians “do it better here in Colombia than in the United States.” Ouch!

Colombia now joins Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia in the great awakening of Latin America. The region is turning its back on socialism, one election at a time.

Proverbs 29:2 says: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

Bible commentator Matthew Henry wrote that “the people have cause to rejoice or mourn, as their rulers are righteous or wicked.”

Colombia mourned under four years of socialist misrule, rising violence, and a public debt that grew almost 50 percent. Petro bragged about paying the IMF loan, but he did it by borrowing more money at triple the interest rate.

Now many Colombians rejoice because they chose a new direction, and they will not let one bitter socialist take it away from them.

Pray for Colombia. Pray for a peaceful transfer of power on August 7.

God is moving in Latin America, and the future is bright! 🙏🇨🇴🔥
